Shakedown Hawaii Will Release “When It’s Ready”

While the 2017 release window for Retro City Rampage follow-up Shakedown Hawaii has come and gone, indie developer Vblank Entertainment is still diligently working on the game. A new update from the dev has clarified when the game might ship.

The developer noted that while the work on the game is still in full swing, we might not see it for awhile still and most importantly not until the game is completely ready.

“The majority of the game’s development right now is cohesively melding the story, missions, gameplay & humor, and nailing the pacing & flow,” the developer mentioned over on their official Twitter.

They added, “Post-launch patches could fix potential bugs or add features, but wouldn’t be ideal for the game’s core. Thus, ‘when it’s ready'”, noting when they’re expecting to release the game.

Another post from the dev notes that Shakedown Hawaii is “taking a long time to build,” because it’s “larger than Retro City Rampage was in every way: its world, missions, cutscenes, detail, environment, etc.,” but promised it’ll be “worth the wait.”

Once released, Shakedown Hawaii will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, 3DS, and PC via Steam.
