VBlank Entertainment has announced a Nintendo Switch version for Shakedown Hawaii, their follow-up to the throwback sociopath simulator Retro City Rampage.
The game will launch first on the Nintendo Switch sometime in April of this year, followed by versions on PlayStation 4, PS Vita, 3DS, and PC via Steam. Featured above, you can view a new trailer showcasing the Switch version of the sequel.
The game is a new open world adventure 30 years after the events of the original. Players will see the protagonist comes out of early retirement, in the hopes of rebuilding his crumbling empire.

February 28, 2017 at 1:21 pmI wonder if it’s gonna be as low-spec as Retro City.

February 28, 2017 at 1:25 pmRetro City Rampage was so smooth and fun and the developer is a programming genius. I was so awed by this game that I could even get past the annoying references and Phil Fish.
I am most certainly getting this one.

February 28, 2017 at 2:07 pmThis game is looking pretty damn good. I don’t even care about the timed exclusive – hopefully the dev got a nice deal out of it.

March 4, 2017 at 1:42 amIt’s probably more a result of small studios only being able to work on a couple of versions at a time. I’m pretty sure Retro City Rampage had a similarly staggered release.

March 4, 2017 at 1:43 amJust look at the videos. RCR was 8bit, wile this looks >16bit.

March 4, 2017 at 10:44 amYeah but Double Dragon 4 had modern comp specs even though it was just some HD 8-bit. Not that I need Shakedown Hawaii to be so low but I thought it was neat that RCR could be played on an old computer.
