Shadows of the Damned remaster

Grasshopper Manufacture has announced their Shadows of the Damned remaster will be playable at PAX East 2024, news confirmed alongside an official title for the remaster.

The new Shadows of the Damned remaster will be officially titled Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, a fitting subtitle for the blood-pumping action thriller featuring its equally hot-blooded protagonist Garcia Hotspur.

While it’s great to hear Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered will be playable at PAX East from March 21st through the 24th – its writer and creator Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda will be attending to chat, play games, and even play rounds of blackjack.

If you beat Suda-san you’ll get a signed set of Shadows of the Damned coasters – if you complete the demo you’ll get a Shadows of the Damned coaster too. A special pin featuring Garcia’s sidekick, Johnson will also be given to visitors. A quiz will be held at the booth and the first winners will receive a custom Shadows of the Damned custom ring.

Fans can expect the demo of the hotly-anticipated remaster to give them a fresh look at the dark antics of Garcia Hotspur, the antihero of its dark and horror shlock story who’s trying to find and rescue his girlfriend, Paula.

The previously announced Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is based on the 2011 game of the same name, which has only been available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was a fever dream at the time with a star-studded team including not only Goichi Suda but legendary Capcom boss Shinji Mikami, composer Akira Yamaoka, and various western creators.

A release date nor release platforms for Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered are confirmed, however it will likely ship for all modern platforms including PC and consoles.
