After loads of rumors and teasing, XSEED Games have finally confirmed that Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is heading to North America this Fall.
The game is getting a limited “Let’s Get Physical” run in retail outlets, and it’s also coming to the Playstation Network via a digital download. The retail version will come with a soundtrack CD and a Shinobi Syllabus, which contains profiles of all the shinobi students, strategies for the game, as well as some illustrations.
Shinovi Versus takes place directly after the events of Senran Kagura Burst, harkening back to the rivalry between the girls of the Hanzo Academy and their adversaries in the Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy. The latter of which have gone underground and reformed into the mercenary group that would come to be known as the Homura Crimson Squad.
There’s also a new threat, the Gessen Girls’ Academy, who are pursuing vengeance against the Hanzo girls for their treachery as shinobi warriors. Lastly, a brand new class at Hebijo appears as well who apparently oppose all three of the aforementioned factions.
Players will be able to select from 20 different characters from different schools, taking in the narrative from four different factions. The game is coming with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
