Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash Gets VR Support and New Characters via DLC

Marvelous has published an update for Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash in Japan that brings with it PlayStation VR support, as well as some new characters.

The new PlayStation VR support comes by way of the game’s dressing room, only now you can ogle the girls in virtual reality. However, if you get too close or try to peep at their naughty bits, you’ll get warned by the game that you’ve gone outside the game play area.

There’s also a “VR Diorama” mode that lets you make your own diorama with the girls, their outfits, and more.

The game also got new characters with Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni’s Rinka and Ranka Kagurazaka, each of which costing 700 yen.

Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is now available for PlayStation 4, worldwide. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).

Valkyrie Drive DLC makes sense. I personally liked Momo the most from that game, but Rinka and Ranka are the poster girls and have better design. I wonder if they’ll come with new skill cards. Collecting those is one of the best things about the game.

Good that they are adding the VR mode as an update. They went kind of crazy with the DLC for this one.

“Kind of”? Three mega bundles costs $231.35AUD, with two more planned in the future. This is DoA all over again. Suffice to say I am not terribly impressed by Marvelous with this shit.

I’m not happy with them either. The worst part is that they are reselling some of the costumes that were DLC for Estival Versus. If they at least adopted the Shinovi Versus/Bon Appetit model of shared DLC it would’ve been better and not as pricey, but as it stands it’s an absolute rip-off and I refuse to buy it.

What’s the DLC, costumes? Are any of them good?

Usually I don’t mind DLC when it’s mostly cosmetic (since you can buy costumes individually I usually just get the ones I like), but I am extremely disappointed that they are reselling Estival Versus Outfits instead of having them in-game or allowing you to transfer your content (like Shinovi Versus and Bon Appettite).

I’m still loving the game and will keep supporting it as Senran Kagura became one of my favorite series and I’ve grown to respect Takaki for doing what he likes, but this was really not cool.

Some of them are re-used costumes from Estival Versus.
