We’ve learned Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting a manga adaptation spinoff.
The news comes via publisher Kadokawa, who revealed the new spinoff over on their Comic Walker website. The manga adaptation focuses not on the titular shinobi Sekiro, rather the seemingly unkillable punching bag named Hanbei the Undying. Featured above, you can get a first look at the manga.
While a Japanese release for the manga is set for May 27th, western publisher Yen Press will release an English version later. Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter manga artist Shin Yamamoto is handling the new Sekiro manga, and From Software is supervising the whole thing.
An English teaser blrub was also shared: “The Sengoku Era… A time when losing a battle meant losing it all. The Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina, aims for world domination… That is, until he encounters a certain Samurai…”
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here (we love it and recommend it!).
