An upcoming anime series based on the light novel series Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles will premiere on July 5th as part of the Summer 2021 anime season.
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is an ongoing novel series that began in 2014 by creator Yuri Kitayama. The series follows Haruko Amakawa who dies in the real world and is reincarnated into the body of a young boy named Rio in a fantasy world who just witnessed his mother’s murder.
The two become one body and soul as their memories and personalities combine. Rio awakens to a special power with Haruko’s soul fusing with his which could allow him to seek revenge on those who killed his mother, or anything else he sets his mind to.

A western premiere for the series has yet to be announced at the time of publishing.
