Sega to Reveal New Yakuza for PS4?

Yakuza 5 SS 1

SEGA has announced that the results of their poll to test the popularity between the various Ryu ga Gotoku (Yakuza) characters will be shown on the iconic (and huge) Alta Vision screen in Shinjuku, Tokyo – at 5 PM Japan time, on August 18th.

Here’s where it gets interesting though – SEGA also mentioned that a “surprise announcement” is set to happen during the reveal of the the poll results. This means we’re probably going to find out about a new Yakuza game, since the series has proven to be pretty popular for SEGA.

Yakuza 5 will be the last Yakuza game on PS3, previously confirmed by the series creator and all-around badass Toshihiro Nagoshi, so naturally if a new game is revealed, it will be for the Playstation 4. Also, all of the Yakuza games have been revealed around this time so the timing of this event makes sense.
