We’ve learned Sega is considering to expand their multi-platform releases for future Yakuza games.

The news comes via an interview (via PC Gamer) with Sega’s Executive Vice President of Publishing John Clark, who revealed more about Sega’s attuitudes towards the Yakuza-series and its releases on Windows PC.

Clark stated that Yakuza games had been “a success” on Windows PC, and in would continue to be a platform the series would be part of.

“It’s in the mindset of [Sega] Japan and Europe now, and the US, to think of it as a multi-format offering. That’s not saying everything’s going to be multi-format, but we’re able now to consider that data.”

As PC Gamer compared the Yakuza-series (that so far has had PC ports months after their console versions release) to Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Shining Resonance Refrain (both games that had PC port release the same time as their console launches), Clark had this to say:

“With those two titles, we now have the ability to evaluate a multi-format simultaneous launch against more of a phased process that we see with Yakuza. That’ll be evaluated and the best way to launch titles will result from that.”
