Sega and Retro-bit has announced a new partnership to reproduce various classic hardware accessories to function with modern platforms.
So far the first confirmed platforms confirmed to get modern accessories include the Sega Genesis, the Sega Saturn, and the Sega Dreamcast. All accessories will have “the same great quality as their original Sega counterparts like the original console port, but also with modern upgrades,” like USB and Bluetooth support.
It’s worth mentioning the deal is not limited to the aforementioned platforms – they could expand to include other Sega hardware. Their original line of classic Sega reproductions will debut at the Innex booth (#21023) at next year’s CES, in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Could this open the door to Sega giving the OK to reproduce entire versions of their classic console hardware? One can only hope. Would you like modern reproductions of Sega accessories? Hardware? Sound off in the comments below!
