Nintendo and Atlus have shared three new trailers for Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, introducing the red-haired character Toma Akagi, the game world, as well as the dungeons and battles you can encounter.

Dungeons & Battles

Players will travel from the real world city of Tokyo to a new realm, known as the “Idolsphere.” In this other place, there are familiar gimmicks that will hinder your progress, as well as enemy Mirages.

Each gimmick is specific to a certain location, like in Shibuya’s 106 building dungeon – the goal is to reach the top by using a huge mannequin arm. When you make contact with an enemy symbol, you’ll enter combat.

As you select commands, your characters will perform various actions. If you hit an enemy’s weak point, you’ll unlock a “session attack,” which lets you perform a series of consecutive attacks. Should you win battles, you’ll get skill points, experience points, and performa (a material to craft new weapons).

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem (Genei Ibun Roku #FE in Japanese) is launching for the Wii U in Japan on December 26th, followed by a release sometime next year in both North America and Europe.
