The second season of Sorcerous Stabber Orphen will premiere on Funimation’s streaming service as Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck.

Funimation’s official blog reports that Sorcerous Stabber Orphen will be joining the site’s lineup. A new trailer and key visual were also released last month in anticipation of the new season for the fantasy series.

The new anime series is the second season of a reboot that began last year based on the original 1998 anime series by J.C. Staff. The original 1998 anime is licensed in the west by Sentai Filmworks.

You can watch the trailer below via YouTube.

Beginning as a light novel series in 1993 by writer and artist duo Yoshinobu Akita and Yuuya Kusaka, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen follows the sorcerer and moneylender Orphen. Although a scoundrel, he has a soft spot for his sister. After she was accidentally turned into a dragon, Orphen sets off on her trail, trying to find a way to change her back.

You can find the plot synopsis below via Funimation.

“From Studio DEEN (Fate/stay night) comes a remake celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series! Orphen is a powerful sorcerer who is notoriously lazy. Everything changes when he finds a way to save his sis, who was turned into a dragon during their days at magic academy. Betrayed by friends who refused to help, Orphen will stop at nothing to track her down, even if he has to go it alone.”

Sorcerous Stabber Orphen is set to premiere in January 2021 simultaneously in Japan and on Funimation’s streaming service in the west.
