Sea of Thieves has just launched their latest Adventure, which runs through next month.
The new “The Secret Wilds” content will run from January 19 to February 2. Adventures are Rare’s way of bringing the story of Sea of Thieves to life.
For the longest time the lore was largely just set dressing, with a bit sprinkled in hidden journals throughout the world.
Then Rare released “Tall Tales”, long quests that told the story of The Shroudbreaker, a magical artifact that pierces the veil around the Sea of Thieves.
Rare changed their format for story-driven narratives to time-limited Adventures last February.
This new format allows the story for the game to continue developing without bloating it with new persistent quests.

The current story arc in Sea of Thieves revisits Captain Briggsy, a notorious rogue and scoundrel that was a major character in the Shores of Gold Tall Tales.
A relic Briggsy left behind has afflicted Tasha the tavern keeper with the skeleton curse and it’s up to players to save her.
Players spent the last adventure recovering artifacts that proved Briggsy had been searching for a cure for the curse and The Secret Wilds continues that story.
