Sea of Thieves will host a fifth anniversary stream next week

Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves has announced they will be hosting a stream next week to announce all the new content for Season 9 and their 5 year anniversary celebration.

Sea of Thieves originally launched on March 20, 2018 meaning this month will be the game’s fifth anniversary. While Season 9 is expected to mostly be quality of life changes, Rare took the opportunity to quietly tease some new content.

In the video announcing the stream we saw a new chef-themed ship set, the ability for harpoons to instantly drop loot on your deck, but most interestingly a green tornado over an island surrounded by ghostly ships. This last tease looks like a new world event or possibly a voyage, being reminiscent of the recent Legend of the Veil quest.

You can check out the announcement below.

Some fans are hoping we could see A Pirate’s Life Part 2, but that remains purely in the realm of speculation.

The Sea of Thieves fifth anniversary and Season 9 livestream will be hosted on Twitch and YouTube on March 6 at 5pm UTC.
