Sea of Thieves enlists Lucid Games to help with development

Sea of Thieves

Lucid Games has joined the Sea of Thieves team to help keep up with the growing pirate sandbox game.

The scope of Sea of Thieves has grown quickly in the past year or so. Rare has introduced seasonal rewards and a “Plunder Pass”, time-limited adventures which are used to help drive the story, and even an ARG murder mystery.

The latest big update to the game introduced on-demand PvP for bloodthirsty players. While players can always choose to fight one another, this new system allows players to queue for matchmade battles in a restricted arena on the overall map of the game.

Rare has continued to add more and more complex content and additions to their server. It makes sense that a developer like Lucid Games would be tapped to help keep up with the constant content.

Sea of Thieves is available for Windows PC (via the Microsoft Store and Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. If you missed it, you can find our review here.
