Sea of Thieves Season 6 Community Day is next month

Sea of Thieves Season 6 Community Day

Sea of Thieves began seasonal community days back in Season 5, a celebration near the tail end of the reward season to get players hyped about the game once again.

Rewards include new Twitch Drops, discounts on merch and premium cosmetics, and an exclusive in-game flag (and matching time-limited T-shirt in the merch store). However what may be the biggest draw for the event seems to have been changed.

The recent event trailer mentions a scaling boost for “Renown”, a resource that represents progress in the season’s reward track. During the Season 5 Community Day this boost was applied to Gold and Reputation. While this may be good news for players who haven’t gotten as far as they’d like in the Season 6 Plunder Pass, players who’ve already maxed it out or gotten close may find it irrelevant.

This boost to Renown will scale as part of the “We Shall Tweet Together” portion of the day’s events. Every 100 Tweets with the hashtag #SeaOfThievesCommunityDay will increase the multiplier to Renown by 0.5x up to a maximum of 3.5x.

You can check out the trailer for the Sea of Thieves Season 6 Community Day here.

This season’s exclusive Twitch Drop will be the Gilded Phoenix Banjo, an instrument to accompany Season 5’s Gilded Phoenix Tankard.

Last season’s Community Day had players experience unexpected amounts of lag and errors when trying to play. Rare had this to say about player concerns:

Note: “Strawberrybeard” refers to the error code when “Sea of Thieves services are temporarily unavailable”.

We’re not ones to shy away from the Strawberrybearded elephant in the room, so we just want to say: this time, we’re going to be ready for you. We’ve battened down the hatches and will have our crew ready to patch any leaky holes. Rest assured we’re doing everything we can to ensure as many of you as possible can enjoy the day.

Sea of Thieves Season 6 Community Day will begin on May 14th. You can find the official announcement here.
