Screenshots for cancelled Sonic X-treme game resurface

Sonic X-treme Sega

New high-resolution screenshots for the cancelled Sonic X-treme game have shown up on social media.

SEGA’s official retro channel posted the images on Twitter, and it’s important to note that these are actual screenshots, as opposed to the tiny images that fans previously had access to that were taken from scanned magazines.

Below you can view the screenshots for the cancelled project in all of their retro glory:

The fan-site Sonic Stadium has gone in-depth about Sonic X-Treme before, and it’s worth giving their article about the game a read as well.

Sonic X-treme would have launched for the Sega Saturn and PC, but low team morale, possible in-fighting with Yuji Naka, and a tight deadline unfortunately made the project impossible to complete.
