
As announced during the Day of the Devs showcase, the upcoming action-adventure platformer Screenbound from Crescent Moon Games is launching on September 10, 2026.
The game introduces what the developers call a “5D” platforming experience. In practice, that means you’re exploring a first-person 3D world while simultaneously controlling a retro-style 2D character on a handheld device called the Qboy. Both versions of your character move together, but each world follows different rules.
You might need to use an object in the 3D environment to help your 2D counterpart reach a platform, or spot clues in one reality that reveal a path in the other. It’s the kind of concept that’s easy to understand but looks increasingly complex the more you see of it.
A new demo is also available now on Steam, giving you a chance to try the dual-reality mechanics before launch. Here’s a trailer:
