A new anime-style series featuring Shaggy and Scooby-Doo titled GO-GO MYSTERY MACHINE is in production.

The new series follows Shaggy, Scooby, and a new cast of characters. While visiting Japan, Shaggy and Scooby accidentally unleash a parade of Japanese Yokai and other spirits.

According to Variety, new characters include Daisuke-doo, Scooby’s uncle who appears to be a Shiba Inu, magical girl Etsuko, and the “gadget wiz” Toshiro.

Recently, Warner Bros. announced they were expanding to anime and anime-style series, such as the recently announced Suicide Squad anime, and the upcoming Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim anime movie.

As it stands, all we know is that GO-GO MYSTERY MACHINE is being produced by Warner Bros. Animation, it’s unclear if a Japanese animation studio is working on the project.

A premiere date for the new Scooby Doo series has yet to be announced.
