Scalebound and Crackdown are Skipping E3 2015 for Gamescom

scalebound 06-12-15-1

Microsoft has confirmed that a pair of upcoming Xbox One exclusives Crackdown and Scalebound are going to skip this year’s E3, in favor of Gamescom.

“Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll be sharing many more of our plans for 2015 and beyond,” said Xbox boss Phil Spencer in an Xbox Wire blog post. “Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight. We’ve decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for Gamescom in August. Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at Gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10.”

For those wondering if the publisher has anything in store for E3, Spencer teased “the greatest games lineup in Xbox console history,” which includes Halo 5: Guardians, among others.

“the greatest games lineup in Xbox console history”

Considering the 360’s actual exclusives were Halo, Saints Row 1, Operation Darkness and some Cave games that are only exclusive because Sony didn’t allow them on the PS3 because Sony is run by idiots, that’s not too impressive

360, like the Wii, had better exclusives than people seem to be willing to give it credit for.

Microsoft and Nintendo are all but ceding E3 to Sony. Not exactly the smartest move if you’re trying to compete…..

I have Divinity 2 on Steam. And Last Remnant. And some others weren’t exclusive either.

Console gamers and PC gamers very rarely mix. Hence all the excitement about things like Hyperdimension coming to the PC. So really console exculsive is the main thing.

    I don’t believe that.

Otherwise all the late PC ports that the consoles get woud be pointless and all the really late console ports the PC gets would be pointless. There always barebone ports as well.

Obviously there’s people who have one but not both, but the PC gamers typically have money, and thus have consoles as well.

Every single friend I know who games on PC also has at least one of the consoles.

Yep. Pretty sure I remember the creator of Ico and SOTC has left Sony though.

E3 doesn’t matter that much anymore

I don’t mind, it’s nice knowing there is something to look forward for Gamescom insted of just all the old stuff from E3 again.

As much as the lack of Scalebound deflates what little excitement I had for this coming E3, I wouldn’t go that far when Sony’s lineup has been rather poor so far this gen.

If anything, it implies Microsoft has some good *new* surprises lined up this show… they just better be much closer to release than these two and Remedy’s Quantum Break, which is now skipping E3 for Gamescom a second time.

I’m actually surprised they didn’t forget about this game, with the lack of news we heard after it’s announcement. Glad they at least acknowledged that it’s still being made.

Unless you are counting “timed” exclusives, Vesperia (the not beta edition) came out for PS3

youtubers seem to be the only ones excited over E3 because they get to go there, some are even complaining that they are “not saving juicy news for E3”

I for one care not for getting them now or next week or in a month

Divinity II, Gears of War, The Last Remnant, Metro 2033, Tales of Vesperia, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack The Ripper (is it really good?) and Condemned were all multiplat.

Sherlock Holmes series is really good. There all console exclusives in the west though and that’s the main thing. When talking about console gamers.

Heck even the playstation is losing exclusives right and cenre to the PC today alone it lost Tales Of and Toukaiden.

Vesperia is Japan only so not much good to 99% of people and Metro is a whole different generation.

They were announced a bit early, honestly. Microsoft needed to win back some credibility (funding a Platinum game’s a good way to do it) and the result is we got a bit of a wait.
