Samurai Warrors: Spirit of Sanada Heads West for PC and PS4 in May 2017

Koei Tecmo has announced the western release dates for Samurai Warrors: Spirit of Sanada.

The latest in their action series will launch for both PC and PlayStation 4 on May 23rd in North America and May 26th in Europe. Featured above, you can view a new trailer for the game.

If you pre-order the game, you’ll get the Sanada Colors Costumes for “Kunoichi”, “Inahime”, “Kaihime”, and “Chacha,” alongside a special costume for “Kunoichi.” North American retailers that offer this include: Amazon, Best Buy, EB Games, and GameStop.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via Koei Tecmo:

A historically inspired action title set in Sengoku era Japan – the storied historical period also known as the Age of Samurai – Samurai Warrors: Spirit of Sanada focuses solely on the legendary Sanada Clan. Through their fierce will to survive, they fought with upmost vigilance to ensure that the Sanada name would be withheld throughout history.

The tale of the Sanada Clan begins with patriarch Masayuki Sanada, a much-requested character who joins the Samurai Warriors series for the first time. The player follows Masayuki’s first battle, trailing the clan’s meteoric rise from lowly vassals to powerful lords which led to the birth of the fan-favourite samurai, Yukimura Sanada. Continuing the clan’s legacy, players will then journey from boyhood as the legendary warrior, following his footsteps as Yukimura rises to the title of “The Crimson Demon of War.” Players will also experience the epic tale of his father’s reign and his finest battles, up to his valiant final stand at the Siege of Osaka.

That horrible feeling when we will get the Samurai Warriors Sanada Yukimura game but not the Sengoku Basara one because Capcom gave up on bringing the franchise to the west.

I still don’t understand why they’re going back to focus on Sanada yet again when he was the star of the first Samurai Warriors (SW4) for PS4. Like geez, time to star a new famous samurai family – there’s hundreds if not thousands to choose from.

Capcom should put it on digitally. And on PC as well. Sengoku Basara is fun af.

I’d love if they brought out more of the Sengoku Basara games in the west. :(

Sounds to me like you should play SW4 since his little story mission is actually the best one in the game.

Their own damn fault for dubbing it and localizing the names.
