Koei Tecmo have revealed new playable characters for Japanese historical musou action game Samurai Warriors 5 in its latest gameplay trailer.
As previously reported, the game is set after the Onin War of the Sengoku period. The old feudal system has collaped, and Japan is in constant civil war. Nobunaga now seeks to unite all of Japan.
Players must choose from 27 warriors old, new, and reimagined for the period to tear across the battlefield in Musou action; devastating armies single-handedly and turning the tide of battle. This is made even more dazzling with the Japanese ink painting art style.
The new trailer shows off four of the new characters coming to the game. These include Sandayū Momochi (kusarigama expert and head of the Iga Ninjas), Hattori Hanzō (master of the Ninja Sword), Magoichi Saika (a mercenary who cares little for good and evil), and Yasuke (Nobunaga Oda’s retainer and a great samurai).
The trailer also shows the adult versions of Nobunaga and the family retainer Mitsuhide Akechi. They will also be playable; Nobunaga with his sword, and Mitsuhide bringing his matchlock into the mix.
