Samurai Shodown DLC Season 2 Trailer, Mina, Sogetsu, and Iroha Announced

Samurai Shodown

SNK Corporation have revealed three of the four characters coming in the next round of Samurai Shodown DLC; Mina, Sogetsu, and Iroha.

Each character has appeared in past Samurai Shodown games, and are now making their return. Even the most recent appearance by some of these characters (in Samurai Shodown VI) means this is their first appearance in 15 years.

Editor’s Note: The following information is via SNK Wiki.

Mina Majikina first appeared in Samurai Shodown V. Withdrawn and introverted, she managed to defeat a terrible beast to avenge her village. The small creature with her, Chample, was found in the wreckage of her village.

Curiously, past games had revealed that Chample was in-fact the monster that destroyed her village. She also had both her eyes in past entries. SNK Wiki claims “She lost her right eye during the battle against Chample, but managed to save it, at least its critter form. How the battle eventually concluded was currently unknown.”

Sogetsu Kazama first appeared in Samurai Shodown IV. Adopted by the Kazama ninja clan, he could have been its leader. However, he rebuked the position after he learned the leader was trying to kill him, and destroy the water demon he sealed into his weapon.

Finally, Iroha first appeared in Samurai Shodown VI. The character was popular enough in Japan to warrant a mobile game, Maid by Iroha. A crane who can transform into a Japanese maid, she now serves an unknown master.

Back in June 2019, the developers of Samurai Shodown stated in an interview with Dengeki Online that they were concerned some things Iroha did (such as taking off her clothes behind paper door) would be too sexual.

The unknown fourth character was only teased at this time. You can view the DLC Season 2 trailer below:
