Developer Liquid Swords. the studio launched in 2020 by Just Cause creator and Avalanche Studios founder Christofer Sundberg, has announced Samson: A Tyndalston Story, a new consequence-heavy noir action game.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story is in development for Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) with a release set for sometime in 2026.
“We built Samson to strike fast and leave a mark. It’s a raw, physical story with systems that push back at every turn,” Liquid Swords founder and creative director Christofer Sundberg said in a press release. “This is the start of what Liquid Swords stands for, and the team has delivered something with real teeth. We’ve come through a heavy cycle of change and sharpened every part of how we work. The entire industry is navigating pressure right now. Samson is our answer to that reality, a focused project built with intent, not excess. This is how we move forward.”
Here’s a rundown on the game, plus its reveal trailer:
Players take on the role of Samson McCray, a man fighting to stay ahead of a crushing debt that tightens by the hour. Violence, desperation, and quick judgment are the only tools he has left as Tyndalston pushes back at every turn. Combat is grounded, physical, and dangerous. The city responds to your actions, forcing you into a loop where pressure defines every choice you make.
Samson is built on a simple, brutal truth: every day costs you. Debt grows with interest, and time works against you. Each job burns a limited pool of Action Points and every decision shifts how the city treats you—there are no do-overs. You move forward because standing still makes everything worse.
Founded by Christofer Sundberg, Liquid Swords brings together key developers whose experience shaped the Just Cause series and Mad Max. The team’s background in physical action, systemic design, and character-focused worlds forms the backbone of Samson. This is a sharp, contained story built to hit hard from the opening frame.
