Sample a Teaser of Cosmic Star Heroine’s Brilliant Soundtrack

Cosmic Star Heroine is definitely somewhat of an indie darling that I have my eyes on.

The game was funded on Kickstarter, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. It’s a turn based sci-fi RPG inspired by the likes of Suikoden, Chrono Trigger, and Phantasy Star. Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer of the game, although it doesn’t feature any gameplay.

You play as Alyssa L’Salle, a top galactic government agent that gets caught up in a spiral of conspiracies, who gets outed as such to the general public. This doesn’t seem to phase her quest to stop the evildoers in their schemes, as you’ll quickly be tasked with building up your own headquarters with highly skilled agents.

The devs at Zeboyd Games don’t have much in the way of new things to show, but we have gotten a preview of the soundtrack, which is being handled by HyperDuck SoundWorks.

“For the Cosmic Star Heroine soundtrack, we initially wanted to harness our own personal love for 80s and 90s film, game, and anime music, going from the Blade Runner soundtrack scored by Vangelis, to the Lethal Weapon soundtracks scored by Michael Kamen, David Sanborn (Saxophone), and Eric Clapton (Guitar), from the Grandia soundtrack scored by Noriyuki Iwadare, to the anime soundtrack of Bleach scored by Shirō Sagisu,” Chris Geehan of HyperDuck wrote over on the PlayStation Blog.

There’s also smaller previews for Cosmic Star Heroine’s Title Theme, the First Battle Theme, a Cyberpunk track, and yet another Teaser. The spy theme is for “when that episionage knob is cranked to 11, and it’s time to spy hard or go home spyin’… er, tryin’…” according to Geehan.

You can pre-order the PC version of Cosmic Star Heroine over on Zeboyd’s website.
