• Sailor Jupiter VA Emi Shinohara passes away at 61

    Emi Shinohara, a veteran in the anime industry has passed away at the age of 61 according to her talent agency.

    Shinohara was largely known for her role as Makoto Kino (Sailor Jupiter) in the series Sailor Moon. Some of her other standout roles include:

    • Biko Daitokuji (Project A-Ko)
    • April O’Neil in a Japanese Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptation
    • Angel Rosewater (The Big O)
    • and more

    Shinohara still had more to give to the medium; despite being in the industry since the mid 80s, she made appearances in series as recently as 2023. Most recently she appeared in titles like Soukyuu no Fafner, Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, and Komi Can’t Communicate.
