Saber Interactive has announced they’re working on a new AAA game based on a “tentpole” Hasbro intellectual property, meaning one of their core franchises.
While details are scant, the new AAA game is being developed by the Saber Interactive team that made Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2, and Hasbro expects it to be another hit like the Space Marine sequel.
“We have many new digital collaborations in the works, but I’m especially excited to announce this one today, being a personal fan of many of this team’s games,” Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks said in an earnings call (via Motley Fool). “Hasbro and Saber Interactive will be collaborating on an all-new video game partnership developed by the team behind 2024s megahit Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2, combining high octane single-player action an amazing multiplay with SABRE’s Swarm Tech. This new AAA title, one of our tentpole IPs is sure to be a hit. Playing to Win is grounded in five strategic building blocks.”
Cocks added, “We will use the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 team to develop the product. And we think that’s a pretty good model.”
Further information wasn’t shared but Hasbro owns a number of popular intellectual properties including Transformers, Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and more.
