At the end of today’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended, GSC Game World announced newly renamed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is delayed to 2023.
Once released, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be available for Xbox Series X|S, and later on Windows PC (via Steam). The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch.
A cinematic trailer shown today was preceded by a short video showing the effects of the ongoing Ukraine/Russia conflict on the developers and their families. Although many were evacuated, some stayed in the country to continue development on the game and volunteer in the war effort, but the game was ultimately delayed indefinitely.

Some of GSC Game World’s employees have decided to defend their country while a part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s development continues in Kyiv. The company has also established a new office in Prague, Czech Republic, where much of the game’s development will take place.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe is based on three video games as well as numerous books, comics, and fan-fiction pieces. With over 15 million copies sold worldwide, the franchise has been critically acclaimed and fans are eagerly waiting for its return with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
