Rune Factory Producer Shares a Message of Hope

Yesterday, we got the shocking news that Rune Factory and Lufia developer Neverland Company was shutting its doors, and immediately filing for bankruptcy, due to lulling sales and overall performance and growing loans.

Naturally, this led to lots of fans of the Rune Factory series get concerned over the series’ future, as Neverland Co. was the sole developer for the series. The series’ producer, Yoshifumi Hashimoto, has taken to the game’s official blog to set things straight, and hopefully alleviate fans’ concerns:

“Hello, this is Hashimoto.

Are you guys enjoying Rune Factory 4?

I’d like to take this time to comment on the future.

Right now, it’ll remain a secret as to what kind of game we’ll release next, but I can say that our team is doing fine.

I’ll leave it at this for now, and thank you again for your continued support.

Producer, Yoshifumi Hashimoto”

While it’s really sad to see a talented developer like Neverland Company possibly shut down, hopefully Marvelous AQL will take the reins of the rune Factory series completely. The question is, will the next Rune Factory game get even more fanservice?
