According to one industry insider, Nintendo and Illumination could already be planning a movie based on The Legend of Zelda in the near future.

During an episode of the YouTube show “The Hot Mic”, film critic and industry insider Jeff Sneider openly discussed a possible deal between Universal Pictures (parent of Illumination) and Nintendo.

This new deal is allegedly concerning a possible movie adaptation of The Legend of Zelda which some fans have been asking for. Calls for a movie have been renewed following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie earlier this year.

When it comes to video game movies, especially Nintendo, animation seems the way to go. Although The Legend of Zelda has a more realistic aesthetic than most Nintendo franchises, going live-action could cross a line.
