A NeoGAF user has posted a curious thread listing a purportedly verified list of leaked information for Nintendo’s 3DS 2016 roster of games.
The only thing giving this rumor any credence is the fact that it came before Nintendo’s reveal of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, and as such, the codenames for both match with the actual logo image names in Nintendo’s press release.
These two logos were named “Niji_A_logo” and “Niji_B_logo,” respectively.
Here’s the entire list of Nintendo 3DS games for 2016:
Spring-Early Summer
- Mario and Sonic Rio 2016
- Nintendo Selects Wave 1
- Hyrule Warriors Legends
- Disney Art Academy
- Bravely Second
- Code Name: “Caviar F” (all ages smaller budget game)
- Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Summer
- Code name: “Torte City” big budget unannounced game for all gamers core/all ages
- Dragon Quest VII
- Code name: “Cadillac” (all ages, smaller budget game late summer)
Fall-Holiday
- 3DS Hardware Price Cut
- Code name: “N-Stars” big budget game for all ages
- Nintendo Selects Wave 2
- Code name: “DMW2” possibly Disney Magical World 2
- Dragon Quest VIII
- Pokémon 20th Anniversary game “Niji”
Finally, it’s worth mentioning the source claims the new The Legend of Zelda game is now a holiday 2016 release for Nintendo’s new gaming console, which we’ve known as code-name NX.
The source claims the NX version will either launch the same day/date as the Wii U version, or shortly thereafter in the holiday NX launch window.
We reached out to the NeoGAF user in an attempt to verify their source – however we haven’t heard back yet at the time of publishing.
(Editor’s Note: We usually try to avoid these sorts of ‘industry insider’ leakers, as they typically refuse to vet their supposed source. We decided to report on this as it has a bit more legitimacy, if that.)
