The second season of the anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End may not air until 2026 according to multiple sources.
A second season of the popular fantasy series was announced late last year but with no release date seemingly in mind. Studio MADHOUSE has been largely silent on the latest season over recent months.
The release date is expected to be announced during Anime Japan in March.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has become a modern classic, finally dethroning Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood from the top spot of MyAnimeList after years of being number one.
Last year, a Taiwanese man who stopped a knife attack credited being inspired by the show, saying: “Himmel would do the same“. Himmel refers to Himmel the Hero, a beloved traveling companion of Frieren whose death of old age spurs her recent sojourn.
The original Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season has been available for streaming via Crunchyroll, who describe it as such:
After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
More news about the second season of Frieren will hopefully be coming in the next few months.
