Hot on the heels of Final Fantasy XVI finally being confirmed for a PC release is a new rumor that the flagship RPG will come to Xbox consoles.

The new rumor comes from notable and proven leaker NateDrake, who responded to another user saying if more Xbox games go to PlayStation, it’s only fair Final Fantasy – and its latest mainline game Final Fantasy XVI – come to Xbox.

“Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox is going to happen,” NateDrake said. “Just waiting on Square to announce it.”

It’s worth noting that mostly every mainline Final Fantasy game has come to Xbox consoles in some shape or form, from the original Final Fantasy VII through even its popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.

If Final Fantasy XVI does actually make it to Xbox consoles in the near future – it remains to be seen if the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake Xbox port is actually happening, if it ever will.
