We’ve gotten the first look at (via Famitsu) Marvelous’ newly revealed PS Vita adventure game, Net High.
First up, it’s the core staff working on the game:
- Producer: Koichiro Tanaka
- Character Design: Koutaro Sugi
- Scenario: StoryWorks
- Developer: Groove Box Japan
To explain what a “riajuu” is, we’ll need a refresher on Japanese culture. The term is basically internet slang for people who spend life to perfection, in the real world, or IRL. The goal of the game is to discern which of these riajuu are putting lies out there online, and which are genuine.
The protagonist, Oreshi (voice by Kaito Ishikawa), works a regular part-time job – however, he’s not a riajuu, and he is hell-bent on revealing the lies of those fakers, using alternative methods on the internet.
(The protagonist, doesn’t he look familiar?)
You’ll partake in explosive, blazing battles in which you have to uncover the lying riajuu. This unfolds in two parts, which first begins with the utilization of your SNS, or social networking service, to get information from your followers.
The player will have some help with this, via the artificial intelligence, Cil (voice by Maaya Uchida), which is found in Oreshi’s wearable tech.
Following this, you’ll embark in “flame wars,” (shown below), where Oreshi must find the lies from his opponents, and ultimately point out the truth behind their lies. There will be ranked battles with riajuu, and if your opponent is high in rank, the battle will naturally be challenging.
If you overcome a difficult opponent, you will be rewarded, although Famitsu hasn’t shared details on what this might be – other than humiliating the liars you find on the internet.
More information for the game is promised in a new report on Famitsu. Net High is coming to PS Vita some time this fall in Japan.
