Atari is celebrating the 25th anniversary of RollerCoaster Tycoon with a host of new merchandise that will likely please fans.
In celebration of this anniversary, Atari has launched an online store filled with limited time merch based on the original game as well as the franchise at large. This includes minor things such as shirts to limited shadowbox art signed by the RollerCoaster Tycoon creator Chris Sawyer.
RollerCoaster Tycoon launched 25 years ago on March 22nd, 1999, providing gamers with the ability to create the amusement park of their dreams. This not only changed the gaming space but also beyond as this game was responsible for inspiring some to become professional in the real life field.
After the game’s launch in 1999, the series would see numerous sequels and expansions to the formula. While today it doesn’t have the major brand appeal that it used to. there have also been many “spiritual successors” such as Planet Coaster, Parkitect, and Park Beyond.
Are any of you reading this fans of RollerCoaster Tycoon? Did you enjoy the spectacle way back over two decades ago, or perhaps you learned about it over the years as a classic must play title? Despite it’s age, the game is still available for purchase on PC (via Steam).
