With the KickStarter well underway, Rogue Wizards has now officially been Greenlit for Steam. The game is a procedural rogue-like that will have you play as a Wizard delving dungeons to try and discover what secrets some new strange portals hold.
While the Rogue-like base of the game is the main portion, there is also a town builder for you to work with, as well as tons of other content.
All of the dungeon-delving is procedural, from the maps to the items – the devs have said no two weapons will really be the same. While that is certainly a core aspect of a rogue-like, I personally really enjoy their art direction for the procedural generation of the dungeon itself – the tiles of the floor pop up and fall away as you move through the dungeon.
Unfortunately, I stumbled across the game pretty late, so there are only 7 days left in the KickStarter to fund these guys, and they are still looking at $15,000 more dollars to fund it. Unfortunately, the outlook appears to be rather bleak, but the Greelight is a step in the right direction – hopefully they can meet their goal.
You guys can check out their KickStarter here and see what they have to offer.
Oh – and they have the game set up for Android and iOS too, which should be neat.
