Rocksteady Studios co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker have announced they are leaving the company. The development team was founded back in 2004 and is best known for their Batman Arkham series.
Currently, the team is working on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Nathan Burlow, current Rocksteady Director of Production and one of the original founding members, is set to become Studio Director. Darius Sadeghian is named as the new Studio Product Director.
“Our decision to leave Rocksteady was emotional to say the least! From the day we founded the company in 2004 all the way to today, Rocksteady has been our life and soul.” Hill and Walker said in a combined statement on their departure. “We are so proud of the team here for the games we have all made together, from our first game Urban Chaos, to the much-loved Arkham series, and now the epic Suicide Squad.”
They also talk about their appreciation of those they worked with along with fans of their games. They also mention they will seemingly continue to work in the gaming industry elsewhere, hinting they will “begin a new adventure in gaming.”
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was delayed to spring 2023 and will launch across Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
