Users have found that some of Rockstar’s games on Steam have been previously cracked.
Game developer and modder __Silent_ found cracking group tags while looking at the hex code for some of Rockstars games on Steam.
By looking into the .exe files for Midnight Club 2, Manhunt, and Max Payne, the modder has found that even Rockstar didn’t bother with their own DRM, and re-sold cracked copies instead.

For those not familiar with early 2000’s gaming, a lot of PC ports came with obnoxious DRM services, like Games for Windows Live, which still plagues some releases and breaks games upon removal.
It seems that even companies are now having to deal with the consequences of invasive DRM, as they themselves could not reverse engineer their own games without breaking, thus having to ship a cracked .exe on Steam.
