Years after the launch of the Xbox One port for Roblox, some wondered how long it would take for it to come to its competitor in PlayStation.
Fans still had hope despite reports that Sony had actually blocked the game on its platform due to concerns about exploitation of children.
Now it seems that Sony has reversed course on that decision, as Roblox will officially be making its way to its consoles next month, in October, without a specified release date.
This announcement was made during the Roblox Developers Conference 2023 and also confirmed the game is coming to Meta Quest virtual reality headsets a bit earlier, in September.
The announcement came alongside the company revealing its deeper plans on integrating the currently trendy metaverse into the game where users can new ways to play and communicate with others in the community.
Part of that includes additional features for users to create rules on what they deem inappropriate in their communities. Which may be part of the reason why Sony changed its mind on allowing the game to come to its platform.
Roblox is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (via backwards compatibility), Android, iOS, and PC.
