The popular online children’s game Roblox has been banned in Turkey, as confirmed by multiple Turkish news sources and an official by the Turkish Ministry of Justice.

This comes after a wave of shutdowns of numerous social media websites including Instagram, Discord, and Twitch.

The city of Adana’s 6th Criminal Court of Peace accused Roblox of “child exploitation”, and was reported by the Turkish Telecommunications Authority.

They also cited lack of oversight to prevent underage people from accessing adult material, incentives to access the alleged frowned upon material using the virtual currency of the game named “Robux”, and alleged friendliness to LGBT ideas, something that is frowned upon in the mostly conservative Muslim Eurasian country.

Roblox Corporation has yet to comment on the situation.
