Many fans of the Mana series were upset when Square Enix revealed the latest in the series, Rise of Mana, for smartphones.
The title showed lots of promise, and yet most hardcore fans of the series just want a new game in the series on dedicated gaming platforms, like the home consoles or either the 3DS or PS Vita. Now Square Enix has confirmed their Tokyo Game Show 2014 lineup of games, and with it was a fun little slip – Rise of Mana is coming to Playstation Vita.
The original game featured 8 player cooperative multiplayer on mobile, and it was held up by microtransactions that gave you boosts for speedier progression. Naturally, this isn’t mandatory to complete the game, but many purists simply want to “buy the complete game”, instead of playing a freemium type experience.
Rise of Mana is set for a release on PlayStation Vita sometime this winter in Japan.
In related news – Square Enix also confirmed Deadman’s Cross, a zombie filled card battling RPG, for the Playstation Vita as well.
