Riot Games has settled their class action lawsuit focusing on gender discrimination within the company.

While the gender discrimination lawsuit was settled, there are reportedly “other suits that went into arbitration” and they are “still pending.” The news was confirmed by employees involved in the suit, over on Twitter.

The employees noted Riot settling the lawsuit was “a victory for women in games” and that Riot’s policy changes help them “progress toward equality that we’ve made over the past year.”

Riot also confirmed the settlement in their own blog post, adding, “we’re pleased to announce that we’ve come to an agreement in principle to settle the class action lawsuit filed against Riot.” They also said the company is “hopeful that the settlement will allow us to continue our momentum […] in making Riot a leader in inclusive workplaces.”

Riot had been making its employees sign contracts that included forced arbitration, meaning employees would be contractually obligated to take complaints to a private system, with no judge or jury, when the same case would normally be resolved through the main legal system.
