Re:Zero Second Season Trailer, Premieres Airing July 8

Kadokawa has released a new trailer featuring the character Emilia for the upcoming second season of Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World originally began as a novel series in 2012 by author Tappei Nagatsuki. A light novel series followed in 2014 with illustrations by Shinichiro Otsuka, which was in turn followed by a manga later that year. The anime series from studio White Fox began in 2016, with only the one season since then.

Natsuki Subaru is a listless high school boy who finds himself transported to another world. He does not appear to have any powerful abilities as is common in isekai stories, until he is shortly killed just after he is transported.

However his death only has him reawakening back to his arrival to the other world. Whenever Natsuki dies, he is sent back to a certain point in time, and able to change the fate that he lived through originally until he gets it right.

Emilia is a half-elf that Natsuki meets shortly after he arrives in this new world; her insignia proving her status as royalty stolen by a thief. Despite being far removed from the royal family, and only 42nd in line for the throne, she earnestly wants to become the new ruler in order to improve the situation of Half-Elves who are discriminated in this world.

You can find the new Emilia-focused trailer below.

The second season of Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World premieres July 8th.
