Re:Zero- False King Candidate Announced, Launches Winter 2020 in Japan for PC, PS4, and Switch

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: False King Candidate

Spike Chunsoft have announced Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: False King Candidate.

Described as a tactical adventure,” and piecing together information via Famitsu (translation: Google Translate) we can piece together the game’s story- original from the original anime and manga. Editor’s Note: Please bear in mind that Google Translate is not always accurate, especially with Asian languages.

A month after Subaru has started his life in another world, the royal selection for the 42nd King of Lugunica has been postponed. Investigating the issue, it appears there is a sixth candidate. In the original manga and anime, there was only five.

This is also indicated by an artifact known as the Ryuki Stone, somehow indicating there should only be five candidates. All doubt falls on Emilia. Now, Subaru must uncover the fake candidate in a story of “Assassination, betrayal, [and] swirling conspiracy.”

You can find screenshots from the game (via Famitsu) below.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is one of the original “isekai” manga and anime that started the trend in the 2010s. While Subaru has been whisked away to a fantasy world, he has the power to rewind time when he dies (much like a save point in a video game).

Wishing to repay a debt of gratitude to the half-elf Emilia, Subaru’s gift is soon shown to be a painful curse, as despair centers around the royal selection, and a mysterious cult, and the misery surrounding the aftermath of Witches of Sin.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World: False King Candidate launches Winter 2020 in Japan for Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
