Tetsuya Mizuguchi- the producer of Tetris Effect, Child of Eden, Rez and more- has announced he is working on a new game with Enhance Games; a “new adventure with synesthesia.”

Replying to a fan on Twitter, Mizuguchi discussed Rez’s 19th anniversary; the game launching on November 22nd, 2001. “Thanks to everyone who played Rez, Child of Eden and Rez Infinite,” Mizuguchi stated. “I and @enhance_exp is moving forward to the new project – totally new adventure with synesthesia.”

Enhance Games are the publisher of Tetris Effect, a game Mizuguchi provided the concept for along with producing. Among the works previously stated, Mizuguchi also worked as a producer on the Lumines series, along with Meteos and Space Channel 5.

While Mizuguchi’s works have focused on music-puzzle games, he has also been the producer on a hack and slash game (Ninety Nine Nights), and several racing games (Sega Rally Championship, Manx TT Superbike, and Sega Rally 2). As such, when Mizuguchi says “adventure,” he may very well be hinting at the game’s genre.

No matter the case, the game is sure to be closely linked to its music. Curiously, the tweet Mizuguchi made in Japanese made no mention of a new game, other than “I will do my best to make a good presentation” (translation: Google Translate) regarding the game’s 20th anniversary.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
