Retro City Rampage Sequel, Shakedown Hawaii, Announced for PC, 3DS, PS Vita, and PS4

Retro City Rampage developer Vblank Entertainment has announced a new sequel for the game, Shakedown Hawaii.

The game is a new open world adventure 30 years after the events of the original, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4, PS Vita, 3DS, and PC via Steam. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer. Players will see the protagonist comes out of early retirement, in the hopes of rebuilding his crumbling empire.

In case you missed it – the sequel is set in the 16-bit era of games, unlike its 8-bit predecessor. The game also features new, powerful weapons, as well as destructible environments.

Looks really nice. He nailed the graphic style and the animations are smooth. Also you left a sentence unfinished on the second paragraph.

Awesome, I loved Retro City Rampage! I hope this gets a retail release like the PS4 and Vita versions of RCRDX did.

I like the magazine mock-up, reminds me of GamePro, which ironically did parody’s of itself.

The game itself looks really good, and reminds me I’ve yet to actually play the first one. I have it, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Hopefully the dev has less trouble releasing this title. RCR was done for damn near 2 years before Sony and MS let him release it on their consoles. He could have had it on Steam way earlier but wanted to release it on everything at once.

RCR is critically acclaimed to its sequel shouldn’t have do much trouble to get through.
