Capcom has shared new details and footage for Resident Evil Village and its new content during tonight’s Resident Evil Showcase.
The new trailer shows off Resident Evil Village’s upcoming “Winters Expansion”, a highlight of which lets you play as Ethan Winters in third-person. A new 60-minute playable demo is also now available across all platforms.
With this new change, there is an update to the demo where players will be able to choose between first and third person. The demo itself is otherwise unchanged from the original which was used to promote the game before launch.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition also shares new footages and details about the upcoming “Winter’s Expansion” which stars Ethan’s daughter, Rose. Who is now 16 by the events of the DLC and the new storyline follows a more psychological experience.
Finally they shared more details on the upcoming mercenaries mode for the game. Where players can take control of Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Alcina Dimitrescu with more emphasis of action packed gameplay.

The Resident Evil Village team provided extended looks at both Shadows of Rose, the nightmarish new story chapter from the Winters’ Expansion, and the highly requested Third Person Mode. The Winters’ Expansion and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, a bundle of the DLC and main game, manifest on Oct. 28, 2022 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Players who pre-order now will receive the Street Wolf Outfit as a special bonus for heroine Rose Winters to wear as she explores a mysterious realm of consciousness in search of a cure for her unwanted powers.
Before the Winters’ Expansion and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition arrive, players will also have the chance to experience the award-winning campaign from a new perspective. A 60-minute demo featuring the expansion’s Third Person Mode is available to try starting today at 4pm PDT.

The Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will come out on October 28th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam) with a Mac port also announced during this showcase for the same date.
