Capcom have released a brand new trailer fully showcasing the upcoming CGI film, Resident Evil: Death Island.

The company also announced a release date for the new movie, which is July 7, 2023 exclusively for Japanese theaters.

Resident Evil: Death Island follows most of the playable cast from all the previous RE titles as they travel to legendary prison, Alcatraz to investigate a zombie outbreak. Things unsurprisingly go wrong as they find themselves fighting hordes of undead once more.

Previously, the franchise has seen a television series and film both of which aired on Netflix in the past couple years – although the series was unsuccessful and canceled after one season.

Meanwhile fans can also enjoy the most recent game release of the franchise, the Resident Evil 4 remake, which is available now for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can also check out our review for it here.
