Capcom has announced a PlayStation 4 re-release for Resident Evil: Code Veronica X.
The upgraded version of the classic game will be re-released as a PlayStation 2 Classic on the PlayStation 4 on May 9th in North America and May 10th in Europe.
Originally released back in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Gamecube, the game was nearly identical to the Dreamcast original save for the new cutscenes and small graphical changes. A high-definition remaster was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011, however this is the original non-HD release.
Capcom internally considers Code Veronica the true sequel to Resident Evil 2, despite the fact that it’s not a numbered entry in the series. Its predecessor, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, was released in 1999 and takes place just prior to the T-virus outbreak in the second game.
