It should be noted based on Capcom’s Platinum Titles list (for games selling 1 million units or more), Resident Evil 7 is the best selling Resident Evil game. However, that list also considers numerous releases of Resident Evil 4 as their own listings depending on platform.
Added together, Resident Evil 4 has sold 10.7 million units- leaving only 700,000 for Resident Evil 7 to surpass it. We previously reported the game sold 9.8 million in August of this year (and 9 million back in May); so gaining those extra sales may not be impossible.
The seventh mainline game in the Resident Evil series shifted the action into first-person, as Ethan Winters is lured to a derelict plantation by his dead wife. Soon he learns she and the Baker family have been infected by some terrible force; driving them to violence and madness, and mutating them among the other monsters of the house.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available on Windows PC (via GamersGate, and Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Amazon Luna, and Google Stadia. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we highly recommend it!)
